16.8 Linda West

Summer 1997, Granite Falls woods

The next morning, Mae wanted to join Linda on her walk in the woods. 

On their stroll, Linda had told her the last time she had been here it had been with her previous boyfriend.

"I can't believe you still think about that Alejandro!", Mae laughed. "Isn't Brian pretty enough?"

Linda felt a warmth rushing through her cheeks. Maybe she had swooned over him a little bit too much.

"Well... sometimes I do", Linda admitted hesitantly. "Alejandro had some good traits, too."

 Mae stopped suddenly and turned towards her. She had a mocking sparkle in her eyes.

"...Maybe you should teach Brian some good traits instead!", she said with a sleek grin.

"Huh?"

Linda had to think for a second.

Then she burst out into laughter.

"Mae, you're unbelievable!", she cried out.

She didn't think Brian needed any teaching, but also she didn't want to delve more into that subject.
