A glimpse to the past

Linda was totally absorbed in watching the dorbeetle. It was fascinating how it moved around in circles, then flying up, then get down again, and again moving in circles. Linda wondered why it did that repeatedly.

"Linny! Watchu do?", her little sister pulled her out of her focus and stumbled to her.

She still couldn't walk well.

Neither talk.

"Look!", Linda said. "This is a dorbeetle! They always come out when it is warm like today", she explained to her, feeling like Mae should learn something at least.

Mae flopped down next to her. "Ish yum?", she babbled.

It looked like Mae only cared about food...

...but she didn't expect her to do this!

"Mae!! Don't eat bugs!", she cried in shock, when her sister put it into her mouth.

Mae screamed like someone had stabbed her.

"Ish not yuuuuuuuuum!!"

"Linda! What's wrong again?", Adelind West asked, looking up from her book she had enjoyed so far.

The girl ran to her.

"I was watching the dorbeetle, and, and then Mae came and ate it!", Linda cried.

Now she had to find another one to watch...

"What's wrong with you girls?", her grandmother sighed. "One plays with bugs, the other eats them..."

Linda felt suddenly guilty. "Not my fault...", she mumbled.
